Pilot Dives Privacy Policy
Effective October 4, 2026
Pilot Dives is an app that helps pilots remember and share places near airports. This policy explains what information the app handles, where it goes, and the choices you have. Questions: abteamexclusivellc@outlook.com.
Using the app without an account
You can search airports, browse nearby places, and keep your own list of saved places, ratings and private notes without signing in. That list is stored only on your phone. It is not sent to us.
Information you share when you sign in
Signing in is optional and uses Sign in with Apple. When you sign in, the following is stored on our servers so other pilots can see it:
- Account identifier. A unique ID created when you sign in with Apple. We ask Apple only for your first name, to suggest a display name. We do not ask Apple for your email address.
- Profile. The display name you choose, your profile photo if you add one, your home airport if you enter one, and your aircraft type if you choose to show it.
- Check-ins. The airport you checked in at, when, and when the check-in ends.
- Ratings and tips. For places you have saved and rated: the place, your overall rating, the detailed grades you gave, whether you would return, and any tip you chose to write for other pilots.
- Messages and posts. Messages you send to other pilots, posts you make on an airport board, and places you send to another pilot.
- Blocks and reports. The pilots you have blocked, and any reports you submit.
Your private notes are never uploaded or shared.
Location
If you allow it, the app uses your location to confirm you are near an airport when you check in, and to show places near you on the map. Your precise location is used on your phone and is not stored on our servers. A check-in records the airport, not your position. When you search for places near you, the area being searched is sent to Apple Maps to return results.
Camera and photos
The app uses the camera or your photo library only when you choose to add a profile photo or a photo to a check-in card you share. A profile photo is stored on our servers so other pilots can see it. A check-in card is created on your phone and goes only where you choose to share it.
Services we use
- Google Firebase stores accounts and the shared information listed above, and processes sign-in.
- Apple Maps provides place search, directions and map imagery. Searches include the area being searched.
- Ticketmaster provides live event listings. A request includes the airport's location and your layover dates.
These companies handle information under their own privacy policies. As with any internet service, they receive your device's IP address when the app contacts them.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your information.
- We do not show advertising.
- We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Who can see what you share
Your profile, check-ins, ratings, tips and board posts are visible to other signed-in pilots. Messages are visible to you and the pilot you are messaging. Reports are visible to us so we can review them.
Keeping and deleting information
Shared information is kept while your account exists. Check-ins expire on the date you set. You can delete your account at any time from the bottom of the Profile tab. Deleting your account removes your profile, photo, check-ins, ratings, tips, board posts, block list, shared places and the messages you sent. Reports you submitted may be kept to protect other users. To ask us to delete anything else, write to abteamexclusivellc@outlook.com.
Children
Pilot Dives is intended for adults and is not directed to children. Accounts are for people 17 and older.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
